Housebreaking Dogs

Owning a dog should be a very rewarding experience for you and your family. Your dog will become part of your family and you will soon come to love and cherish him or her just like any other member.

But with dog ownership also comes a lot of responsibility. You must make sure that your dog is trained properly from the beginning or you may face a lot of problems with your dog in the future.

Housebreaking dogs will be the first thing you will have to do on the road to training. This is where you train your dog to go to the toilet a outside and show him or her the rules of the house and what is expected of him. This can also be the most frustrating and time consuming part of your dogs training and is where many people fall short. Housebreaking dogs should start the moment you get your new puppy or dog and will take weeks or longer depending on your dog and the effort you put in.

The more effort you put in to begin with the better because once a dog is house broken you will be able to take it with you to friends houses and away on holiday with you knowing that it will behave as you wish and not show you up in any way.

Once your dog is house broken you should move on to more advanced training depending on what you want from your dog. Taking your dog for a walk should be a pleasure for you and this will be the next part of you dogs training. You should be able to take your dog out on its leash without it pulling you down the street or attacking other dogs or even people. You should get your dog used to other animals and people as soon as possible and this will help to make your dog more social and behave when in the company of people and other dogs.

A well trained dog will be a pleasure to own and will be a credit to you and your family and give you years of happy dog ownership.
